There have been many reports of skin herbs helping relieve conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and other skin problems. There are many phytotherapy institutes around the world which are institutes that study plants, phyto meaning plant. Your herbalist might have something else to tell you about the condition of your skin too not just what skin herbs to put on it.

Natural therapists and herbalists understand that poor skin condition has a great deal to do with internal toxins residing in the body. Two areas that are linked to poor skin are the liver and colon. If your skin is in poor shape you could very well have a liver and or colon that is not functioning correctly.

Some skin herbs of note are lavender which is great for normal to dry skin, although has been regularly used also to treat all types of skin.

For wounds on the skin, rosemary seed extract can help heal and is anti fungal and antibacterial. Rosemary also helps generate good blood circulation, tone and firm the skin and even is thought to assist with the formation of collagen.

Skin herbs come in many forms and even when found in shampoos and conditioners could help promote healthy hair growth and delay hair loss.

Remember that most holistic herbs will help the many and varied facets of your bodily functions and by their very potent nature naturally benefit your whole being.
